Vice Commander: Charles (Chuck) Norwood
General Flotilla Meeting will be held Via Zoom.
Attention all members,
We will be moving the in-person Flotilla meeting scheduled for 1900 hrs at the Lighthouse Cottage on 5/1/25 to Zoom due to traffic concerns associated with the Shrimp Festival. Street closures in Fernandina Beach will begin at 1600 hrs tomorrow afternoon which would make travel to the lighthouse cottage difficult for some members.
The Zoom meeting will commence at the regular time of 1900 hrs. on 5/1/25. I apologize for any inconvenience, but changing the Flotilla meeting to a Zoom Flotilla meeting will save our members from having to battle traffic woes created by the Shrimp Festival. In the future, we will plan accordingly for our May Flotilla meeting.
With that being said, it is extremely important for our members to join the Zoom meeting tomorrow in order to discuss our activities planned for National Safe Boating Week. It will be a very busy month requiring all hands on deck. Please refer to the Soundings for the complete schedule. We will need our VE's to be ready for Vessel Exams on 5/22 and 5/23. The City of Fernandina Beach will also be declaring a Proclamation for National Safe Boating Week 5/17-5/23.
All FSO's are encouraged to wear your Trops uniform for the Zoom meeting.
